Cleveland Heights is a progressive place. But experts tell me that Shaker Heights and Lakewood are 'greener.' As an inner ring suburb 'going green' can help us maintain our city. Here are three ideas.
First - each city facility needs an energy audit to determine how to make those buildings the most energy efficient possible. Getting Green Certification should be the goal. Let us lead the way!
Second - each citizen should have access to an energy audit so that we can make our energy inefficient old houses more green. This would save us money and make Cleveland Heights a better place to live.
Third - in 2003 and 2004 EcoCity proposed bike routes that would connect Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, University Heights and parts of Cleveland. These routes would allow us to travel less expensively - and would encourage us to exercise more.
Green and Inner Ring go together!
